Air Ivoire was founded on 14 December 1960, headquartered at Port Bouet Airport. It officially started its activities in August 1964. The airline company, known as Air Ivoire and located in Immeuble EECI, decided to cease its operations and suspended its flights in September 1999 due to financial difficulties. Air Ivoire was purchased by the aircraft industry company AAA (Assistance Aeronautique x Aerospatiale), the name of the company was changed to Nouvelle Air Ivoire and operations started again. In 2001, it continued its operations under the brand name Air Ivoire and became a government-controlled airline. Air Ivoire operates flights to a total of 14 different destinations.
