Air Tanzania is the national airline of Tanzania. The company, headquartered at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, was founded in 1977. Mr. Ladislaus Matindi is the CEO of the company. It was established with the dissolution of Air Tanzania East African Airways, an organization of the Government of Tanzania. There was a 5-year agreement between Air Tanzania and East African Airways. When this agreement fell apart, Air Tanzania started operating again in 2007. In 2019, the airline added Johannesburg and Mumbai to its destinations. China, Burundi, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, India, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Zambia are the destinations served by Air Tanzania. There are flights to the airports of a total of 12 cities in Tanzania. Air Tanzania has 12 aircraft in its fleet.
