It was run by a German-Chilean businessman Jürgen Paulmann, brother of millionaire Horst Paulmann. Sky Airline started operations on December 1, 2001. Their first flight took place from Santiago to northern Chile in June 2002. It has been a full member of IATA since 2005. It is the second largest airline in the country. It is also an airline that operates with a low-cost model. It serves a total of 18 different international routes to Argentina, Brazil, Peru, and Uruguay.
